Kenya Tree Issue

I know that this has been covered before, but I am going to start it again.
I have a large Kenya tree that I have raised from a small single stalk almost 3 years ago. I also have 2 frags that I have started from this Kenya tree. From the first time that I acquired it, it has looked fabulous and has grown tremendously, but for some reason about 5-6 months ago it has closed up and won't reopen. It just sits there shriveled up and the 2 frags are doing the same thing. I know that they are fickle and will do this on occasion, but it normally only lasts a few days to maybe a week. It doesn't seem to be "melting" or deteriorating like it should if it was dying, so I am puzzled.
I really haven't changed anything and do 20% water changes every 1-2 weeks. My parameters are: ammonia - 0, nitrites - 0, nitrates 10-20, phosphates - 0.04. I have a lot of different softies including mushrooms, zoas and xenia and all of them are doing great and growing quickly.
I did add additional lighting about a year ago because I added some candy canes and a nem, so maybe it is getting to much light? But the extra lighting was put in 6 months before this started.
The funny part is that I have 2 clowns that have hosted in this Kenya tree. They still are staying with it but are having a hard time finding a place to hide since all of the braches are tightly withdrawn.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
