how deep should sand be?

hi there i have decided to go the full cycle on me new tank



and start from start on it



just a couple of questions



how deep should i have the sand in my tank 1 inch 2 inch ?



also when the tank has fully cycled i want to move my live rock across



to new tank but some of it has got micro alge on it

and i been told to scrap it off how can i do this place it in



ro water and do it while in the water ?



aslo some of my lr has got kenya trees growing on them how can i safely

remove these to new tank



and what i was going to do is after tank has cycled move a little bit of rock bit buy bit to keep the stress down for fish or do you think i should just move it all at same time ?
