Green mushrooms questions

Hey guys! Long time lurker, just recently made an account.





So...I have a 12 gallon Fluval edge. I recently purchased my first piece of coral. Green mushrooms. Well....At least they were green.



Now they're a brown color. I've read about how lighting effects their color drastically. My tank is a 3 toggle with deep blue, white and off.The mushrooms on the stone circle stand they came on.



Few questions:



How do I remove them from the stand they came on? Or do I leave them on there?



I've just placed them on the sand under neath a rock structure I've built. That way they are in a shady place. Is that a good idea?









Here's a pic from a few days ago. They've grown larger since.
