Hi All, I am upgrading to a 120gl 6ft tank from a 75 gl 4ft tank.
on the 75 I have Reef Radiance Pro-Star 165wt full spectrum LEDS (2 of them)
my question is can I use these 2 lights for the 120 gl setup. for the most part I would say NO, but because how I am planning on placing the live rock I am wondering if I can't get away with it.
here is my plans, I will be placing live rock on the left and right sides of the 120 gl leaving the center pretty open for a nice swimming area. if any corals go into the center area it would be lower light corals that I would place on the sand bed. BUT, the majority of the corals (LPS, soft and mushrooms) will be on the rock to the left or right side of the tank.
SO, if I place one light on each side of the tank pretty much directly above each live rock formation will this work.
Also, this 120 gl has a center brace that is brown in color ( no clear) so it would definitely block some lighting if a light was placed above the center of the tank.
