My skimmer is sitting in my fuge, I've had it for a couple months and it's broken in well and runs just fine. Foam comes up and cup fills at a good rate. I'm running a 40g setup with a few fish and messy eaters. My parameters are all in check as with any good reefer. So my question is about the skimmate production. I see skimmers with the nastiest black sludge foaming up, but my foam is white! My skimmate that collects is a brown /green color and is very thin. It fills the cup in about 4 days. It sits at the water level where it's supposed to, and ive moved it up and down accordingly to adjust the skimmate production.
So let me know if this sounds funny to you guys because I'm not quite sure it's doing the job.
