Salt......

So the one question I DIDN'T ask is how to add salt on the initial fill of my new tank. It's a 75 gallon with a 55 gallon sump. When the pump truck came today (yep, I'm lazy) we measured full tank and sump at 98 gallons. I added 40 cups of salt in about 45 minutes. As you can imagine, this clouded the tank pretty badly. I understand this has to do with precipitation, and I should have done it wrong. No livestock in the tank at all, just dry rock and aragonite special grade reef sand. Tank is sitting at about 75 degrees Farenheit. I have a TON of circulation in the display, and have been stirring the (empty) sump manually about once an hour. There is no salt clumping anywhere. It's beginning to clear, but slowly.

How bad did I mess up? Do I just need to wait it out or should I drain and start again?
