Reef illusions #1- natural denitrification

Post what you have, i hope to dissect what actually occurs in the tank vs what links show about natural denitrification in the reef tank.

If you have some kind of testimony or documentation about a pre X condition of high nitrates, and then a post X condition of sustained lower or UL nitrates by using any arrangement of natural items, plants sand and rock, post up.

Im trying to exclude what people en masse use for nitrate control, seemingly opting out of the replete NNR options and into:

biopellets

external dsbs in buckets 1foot deep or better, a totally unnatural natural arrangement lol

sulfur denitrators, hardware etc

Some natural arrangements can attain NNR, i think my tank does. but im claiming the highly limited instances and combined links/peer reviewed work from oceanic studies where dilution factors skew any comparison to real tanks, has caused us to hunt for snipes that is nnr in the reef tank. discuss, and post how you get NNR lets press on it.

this would be a nice detraction thread to have to balance the myriad posts and links about natural reduction of nitrate, but I think its too far outpaced by sinking to be a real phenomena, its a reef illusion and more exist after this one we can dissect.

prediction:

not a ton of diverse posts of any proof at all. a few, but trails off in time, lets see.
