My tank is now 5 months old and for the past couple of months I have been having serious Nitrate issues.
Its currently measuring around 120ppm!!
I have been doing a huge water change to reduce this and then i am having to do a regular 30-40% water change every 5-6 days. However this still isn't solving the problem.
My tank is 65ltr (17 gallon), I have 4 fish and a BTA.
PH - 8.2
Ammonia - 0ppm
Nitrite - 0ppm
LFS says Nitrate is nothing to worry about for fish health however i'm pretty concerned about them and even more concerned about my BTA.
I have debated losing the filter/pump and just running off the skimmer... however i'm not sure this would provide a good enough flow for the tank.
Any suggestions??
