Lets be carefull about "ethics"

Here is what you need to be all right and actually finance with the money you spend on this hobby.

Highly questionable collection methods; highly questionable holding methods; highly questionable shipping methods; highly questionable labor standards (child/slave labor is often used in every stage of the process). It is a safe bet that fish losses exceed 50 percent before any see the tank of a north american hobbyist.

Yet despite all of this it is not until a fellow hobbyist puts a two inch tang in a four foot tank that all of the sudden we are concerned and often label that hobbyist unethical, cruel, stupid etc.

Everyone's opinions are valid but using this type of vernacular will only serve to fuel the argument of those that wish to ban this hobby out right and make no mistake this is happening. It has already happened to the exotic parrot and reptile trade and trust me guys we are next.
