Hello All,

Ok, so I wan't to get my parameters all nice and pretty and eliminate the GHA in my display, it's reduced a lot since carbon dosing.

I checked my parameters today and nitrate is zero. Gradually reduced throughout the carbon dosing, currently at 18.4ml, should I now reduce this?

Phosphate 'appears' to be zero (i.e the GHA is eating any present in the water column).

My Magnesium appears to have dropped over time? It needs buffering right?

pH originally was at 7.8, boosted to 8.1 with x2 pure kalk additions, and over the month has reduced back down to 7.8 again. Too low?

Calcium, increase due to Kalk, then seems to be strangely fluctuating. I'd expect it to reduce as coralline grows. It was growing great in the first few weeks of setting up the tank then just stopped as GHA took over ?

Alkalinity seems to be on a constant decline.

On the 16th and 17th of November, I added a dose of 1650 ml saturated KALK WASSER each day, so a total of 3.3 Litres. Which may have caused a swing, and had gradually burned away over time, back to default params before adding it. The reason for adding was to buffer the parameters.

Why has my coralline algae growth stopped? Should I be dosing calc, or adjusting Mg, Alk ?

:dontknow:

Merry Xmas.
