Valentini puffer in a reef

In my constant search for a new tankmate, I am now wondering about a valentini puffer. My only CUC members are snails, so I suppose they might get eaten.

Besides eating hard-shelled inverts, what are the other drawbacks? LiveAquaria says reef safe with caution, bluezoo says not reef safe.
