Should I be using a cascade canister filter in my 29 g reef tank?

Hi i am new to this website and i actually have a question for anyone who can help me answer it. Should i be using a Cascade canister filter in my 29 reef tank? I have no protein skimmer or anything else just live rock, sand, and the canister . I am thinking about adding a protein skimmer if i can but I have never used one any advice will be greatly appreciated. My tank is not a full on reef tank yet but i have a zoa colony and a few other zoa frags, star polyps and a chalice frag. I also have a pair of clownish and a pair of cardinals. as far as inverts go i just added some more today. I added an urchin, 2 emerald crabs, a cleaner shrimp, and a lot of snails. Any suggestions if i should change the filter? p.s. I have 2 power heads and a spray bar so their is lots of flow. Thanyou!
