Is it possible I have disease free fish??

So as many of you know, I have two captive bred maroons in my QT. They came from your common LFS which by pure odds has to have ich in its system. These two fish are by far the most healthy fish I've had or seen in person. Over the last week I have not seen one sign of any disease. Im sure they were stressed by the ride home, the new tank, and the big one putting the small one in its place. The tank has no light just ambient sun light and they appear to be in perfect health.

I fully expected to treat them with copper for ich but am Leary to do so now. I've read maroons are more sensitive and of course copper is stressful. However in my attempt at an ich free system, I know it's impossible they don't have it in them. Either a miracle has happened or they are so healthy it hasn't/won't show itself. I also don't want to kill them by dosing copper because it appears they've paired up.

I'm two weeks fallow in my DT and got a long way to go and know some of you out there just live with ich and some never see it rear its ugly head. It's funny how the motto of this hobby is "nothing is easy or fast" but people just live with this parasite. Trust me though, after seeing these two fish I'd bet a pile of money they would do just fine.

I want a RBTA one day and know my QT probably wouldn't be the best place for one and end up thinking that'll just be the day ich comes back in. I've done all the work for these quarantines but it does seem it is nearly impossible to be disease free.

So bottom line is anyone think I've got a miracle here or just healthy fish?
