How long will a starfish survive in a bag

I bought a blue Linkia thru a group by in my club. Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, I can't pick it up until Sunday morning. (My group is 100 miles in either direction)

Questions: are starfish like fish, ie pooping in the bag and causing hight levels of ammonia ( yes, I know everything poops)

Will it live 2 days, or should I have the stopover guy acclimate it to his tank, rebag it and I acclimate the next day?



I guess my rambling, in a nutshell, comes down to this: what is safer and ensures a better outcome... Leaving it in the bag or acclimating twice in two days.
