I will finally be upgrading the lighting on my IM Nuvo 8gal. The current stock lights

Are only 8 watts and while my corals are "living" they are nor thriving. I will be finlay getting the Maxspect razor nano 6watt at the beginning of next month. I realize that this light is probably way overkill for my tank, but I figure it will give me the flexibility to upgrade my tank later on.
As for light acclimation, I had a few questions. I know I can dim them, but my question is, if the % it shows in watts or some other parameter? My current lights are 8 watts so I figure 15% on the razors should be about 9 watts....am I thinking this through correctly?
If so I was planning on starting at 15% and slowly ramping 5%/week until I hit 35% or about 21-22 watts which would be about 3 watts/gal. Again, I am not sure if this is how the % on the lights work, so any insight would be appreciated.
I would also like to know what people have for their ramp settings on their razors. I will be playing around a bit as well but would like to see what others have done. Thanks!
