GFO or Refugium

Ok, well I am debating whether I should run GFO or build a ten gallon refugium beside my sump, its a 75 gallon tank. I have an algae problem and have been doing water changes but it isnt going away as fast as id like so I'd like to help it out a bit by either adding a refugium or a gfo reactor. Which would you suggest and why. Thank you so much
