I have a 55 Gallon Reef tank that was giving me heck with red slime. The tank is about a year old and I probably do feed it more than I should but I want my family happy. :)
I have a 20 gallon sump with 2 filter socks, skimmer and is rated +1 or 2 above the volume of the tank. I have had GFO and Carbon reactors in sump for quite some time. It did help with cleaning things up but the red slime was making me mad. I added a Biopellets reactor to the sump and after about 4 weeks the red slime is gone.
Now I have been reading here and there that GFO, Carbon and Biopellets are not good in the same system and other places they are just fine.
I am looking for some advice and would love to here what you all think.
