I just recently set up a 29g saltwater tank with a 10 gallon sump that is going to be a reef tank about 3 weeks ago. It has 35lb of reef saver dry rock, dry sand, and I don't know if the tank is cycled. I haven't seen a spike in anything so far. After 2 days of putting the water in when the tank was up to the correct temp of 78 degrees I put in my bio-spira bacteria in a bottle in the tank. The very next day I noticed that the tank was filled with algae(green water), and I was researching what it was and found out it was diatoms just feeding on the nitrates and such to get the levels down. So I put my carbon and gfo in there to bring the levels down(don't know if that was a good decision). I hadn't started testing anything until the fourth day which was the day after I put in the carbon and gfo(the tank was crystal clear in the morning). I tested again and still no spikes. I tested 3 times a week up until this point still getting no readings(everything 0). So my question is that did the tank cycle fully in those 2 days with the bio-spira in there, and do you guys think it is safe to put my maroon clown fish from my other tank into this tank.
