I have recently re-set up my 40G Breeder tank. It is currently Filled and running but in the Cycle process. For now it has an old set of PC lights on it while it Cycles but I am in search of some new lights. I do plan to keep corals. Mostly Soft but will have some SPS. Here is what I have gathered so far.
When I had this tank running a few years ago, I had an Ecotech Radion XR30 Pro over it. While I loved the control ability and colors it gave me, I never saw the growth in the corals as I did when it had T5HO over it. Even on my previous 180G tank, the T5HO lights were better for me than LED. With that being said I have ruled out LED.
I am looking at T5HO Fixtures and would like some input if anyone has used these before. I am looking at the ATI Fixtures both standard and Dim-able. or the Coralife Fixtures. Both in the 36" Size.
My Main dilemma is how many bulbs. I want at least 4 but am I better off going with 6? Is the Dimmer feature on the ATI fixtures worth the Extra Money?
