Reef Tank - By the Numbers

Hello,

I have been doing a lot of research as I look to upgrade to a 120g (48x24x24) Reef tank, and there is a TON of information on here, but its a bit sporadic. I need help and I think it would help other beginners if we consolidate some of the basic "numbers" everyone should know when starting a tank.

Most of these may be pretty debated but as a 'General Rule" can anyone please help with:

Stocking: How Many fish (Roughly)
CUC: How many needed (Roughly)
Sump Size (Generally what % of the Display)
Flow Rate: 10x, 20x, 30x? (Looking to have softies Only)
Return Pump: 3x? 4x? for GPH
Skimmer: Is there a "Size" or GPH Specific for a 120g or a calculation you can do to find this out?
Live Rock: 1:1?
Live Sand: 1:1?
Lighting: Shouldnt be too difficult with Softies Only
Heater: What can handle heating a 120g?
Thoughts on Auto-Top Offs?

I'm hoping that its easier for myself and new reefers to have a general rule of thumb on this info in one place, as it has been difficult searching and posting in multiple threads.

I understand this may be vague numbers, but just as a "Best Practice"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You
