PF-1200 Overflow Box 2 bulkhead question

Hello Reefers;

I looked around for a thread to address my question but did not see anything. Sorry, if it is there and I am being redundant. I am in the process of completing my sump this weekend and I have a question about my eshopps pf-1200 overflow box:

Tank specs:
75 usg reef tank 48.5"x21.5"x21" (Established 11/25/2015)
55 usg sump tank DIY baffled for overflow/skimmer/refugium/return pump
Reef Octopus RODC 5500 return pump 1452gph (11.5' Max Head Height)
Return pipe 1" pvc total length 6' 2 elbows - elavation 4.5' (55")
eshopps pf-1200 overflow box
(sump is located in DIY stand under tank)

Hopefully these are all the specs you will need to answer this question.

The PF-1200 has 2 separate bulkheads on the overflow to drain into the sump. When I am constructing my pvc piping down into the sump should i be running two separate 1" pipes into the sump? (1 per bulkhead) or should i be running them into a single downspout with a "Y" into the sump? I intend to have ball valves inline on the downspout (or both) pvc.

I have attached a picture of the design which did include a used pf-800, but the bulkhead tightening screw cracked and needed to be replaced so i opted larger with the PF-1200.

The only other question is should I double up with 2 heads? (once I begin corals I will incorporate some type of wavemaker and currently use two Maxi-Jet 600s at opposite ends of the tank)

Any help greatly appreciated
