50 Gal - New Tank

Greetings all!

I sold my old 36 Gal Bow front to my Uncle who currently has it running beautifully. If I think about it, I can grab some pictures of it next time I am at his house. It is growing corals beautifully. But he is an experience hobbyist.

Been quite a while for me on this board. I took a break from the hobby for about a year. So I could get married and buy a house. I started up a new tank a week ago.

55 Gal Saltwater tank.
1 Jebao rw8
Aquamarine Emperor 400 HOB
Reef Octopus BH-1000 HOB
35Lbs LS
20Lbs of Dry rock (Currently...adding more in the future)
2x AI Prime LEDs (One malfunctioned on my out of the box. It's been sent back for repairs. AI has an awesome warranty and repair team)

*Pics will come soon*

It is obviously still cycling. I'm keep a close eye on the salinity and cycle changes. Currently starting to see an Ammonia change as of this morning. I am using a chemical by the name of "seed". I can not remember the manufacturer of it, it's in a white bottle, but it claims to speed up the Nitrogen cycle within 7 days. So we shall see. If I don't see any changes I will just put some raw shrimp in it.

The current plan is to cycle this tank with pure dry rock. NO Live rock will be added. It can been done it just takes longer. The only benefit is no pests and hitchhikers really.

Also this tank will be mostly reef with a few fish.

This is only my second saltwater tank. So as always any advice would be great on what I have going so far.
