I recently heard about RMMAC and found this forum group for it and so here I am. I have some past experience with saltwater tanks (my first tank 7 years ago at which time I lived in Atlanta) and now recently got back into the hobby with a 75 gal display on my main level, in the basement I have a 29 gal tank I made into a sump as well as a second 29 gal in process of being plumbed in to be a refugium.
Currently my system has been running for 3 months PH has been constant even have Coraline bloom expanding on most live rock, since the 3rd week into cycle nitrites and ammonia have been undetectable after initial spikes and currently my nitrates are under 10ppm. I have 45lbs live rock (more is on the to do list but gotta spread the spending around at the moment I'm sure everyone can relate). I introduced 20 Nassarius snails, 20 Cerith snails, 5 Nerite snails, 5 Turbo snails, a Serpant Starfish, and a Coral Banded Shrimp for cleanup crew. Also have two Yellow Tail Damsels, a Firefish goby, one Green Chromis (his pals didn't make the acclimation period, odd that of all the specimins this is the one id expect that from the least), and my most recent fish addition was a Platinum Clown 6 days ago.
I do have a question to go with my first post in regards to the "White Sebae Anemone" I purchased last night in hopes of my Platinum Clown being a host. First I would like to say I wanted a bubble tip but could not source one locally so being that Sebae have been known to host Percula clowns I took a chance.
After much reading I have found common info in forums that a Sebae is only white if it is in poor condition (my fault I should have read more about it before trusting LFS) so I have that to contend with advice here is welcome but my question lies in being certain of species I actually obtained. It has a neon yellowish base fading to white as you go up, cream white tentacles which are uniform in thickness and do not taper to points. It was hosting a Tomato clown at the LFS if that is helpful. Besides reading a Sebae should not be white (normally) everything I have found about Sebae say they have colored tips where mine does not.
I will post pictures when I get home tonight. on a side note behavior wise it looked good in the LFS and not long after being acclimated and placed in my tank attached to rock and was spread open nicely. My clown has yet to pay attention to it but I expect this to take time.
