New 55 Gallon Reef Tank

Hows it going everyone? First thread ever posted. Excited about the tank that's about to be established!! Just got my 55 gallon (Tempered Glass) (48''-L 21''-H) tank set up.

Im running 48'' T5HO's putting out 250w across 4 bulbs (2-blue 2-White) and an digital timer.

My sump is a ESHOPPS Wet Dry Filter (WD-75CS).

I had a Aqua-Mag 18 hooked up to it, but recently changed it out with a generic sump pump thats putting out 550 gph at my tanks height (stand included).

Im running 2 530gph power-heads on the both sides of the tank, trying to create some sort of motion going.

I have a Marineland 200w heater.

My overflow box is TOM Aquarium Overflow Box with Auto Start and Stop, which i thought was very important being that its a sure proof plan that the syphon will never be lost.

The reason i removed the Mag-18 from the sump was because my Reef Octopus (Coral-Vue AC20284) Protein Skimmer and mag-18 couldn't fit it the sump together, so the generic one enables me to run both...

Yesterday i put 40 pounds of "Live Sand" from the local pet shop and now i have a cloudy/milky hue going on in the tank.

Unfortunately, the water i used is NYC tap-water, treated with Seachem's "Prime".

I have yet to add salt to the tank, i will be receiving it tomorrow.

Ive read some material that says the suspended sand in the tank will settle out and be filtered via the filter pad in the sump (at the return) over as early as 2 days.

I figured I would do enough water changes before i put in any live rock, corals, and fish that the treated tap-water that i initially used would be very*** diluted.

I plan on putting ~25 gallons of tank water in a tote (using the mag-18) tomorrow and the 200w heater to prep the salt solution. Im unfamiliar with how much i will need to put in, but I'm sure the packing on the Red Sea Fish Pharm Coral Pro Marine Salt bucket will provide info...

Here goes nothing!
