29 Gallon Biocube Filtration Help

Hi all!

I am very new to this hobby and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 29 gallon biocube that has been set up for about 3 weeks.

I am sure this is a repeat question, but I have searched the forums and didn't really find the answer I was looking for. I am looking to possibly replace the bioballs in my biocube with the intank media basket with floss, purigen and chemi-pure.

But before I do this I was wondering what is the advantages to using this set up over the bioballs? Also, what would adding a skimmer to this as well do for me? Also, for anyone who runs this set up, what is the maintenance for bioballs and what is the maintenance for the media basket?

I have looked for a Tunze Doc 9001, but it looks like intank does not have them, I have found them elsewhere though.

If it helps, to begin I am thinking of a pair of clownfish to begin and then possibly a pair of black axil chromis later, possibly in the summer. Also very interested in adding a Valentini Puffer one day. Also, this will be a FOWLR tank.
