question about tank size and skimmer

hi i have a 55 gallon tank and a 20 gallon sump

when i look for a new skimmer will i look for a skimmer rated for just the display tank size which is 55 gallons or the display and the sump size combined?



also i have the aquac remora which is rated for 75 gallons do u think it will be good enough
