Hey guys, first time posting although I've been a long time lurker. Finally getting around to retiring my 6g nano and stepping it up ten-fold, literally. I know it's a pretty common build, in fact I 'borrowed' essentially all of the design from other posters on TRT, but hey, that's what they're there for, right?
Attached is a link to my album containing progress thus far:

All photos so far have been with my crap blackberry, but after I get some water in her, I'll switch to a better camera.
I made this thread mostly to ask a couple of specific questions about LED choices that I couldn't find solid answers to, so I apologize if my post is a little off topic - although I would certainly welcome any discussion/input regarding the build overall.
For the first few months of the tanks life I intend to run with one 12" fixture, likely with a wide angle lens to give me a decent spread in the short term, with intentions of adding a second 12" fixture down the road.
I've narrowed my interests down to either the Radion XR30W Pro, or the Hydra 52 by AI, however I have some concerns about both products beyond the obvious price difference.
I've read unhappy reviews regarding the Radion's downward mounted fan, in terms of its effect on longevity of the fixture (water/salt damage). I see that Ecotech modified the fixtures to be waterproof at least in the fan mechanism, so I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions about how this change has impacted the design issue presented by the placement of the fan.
Further, on AI's end, there are the numerous complaints regarding the obnoxious buzzing sound - again however, I have since read that AI has addressed those concerns and made adjustments to their models. I'd look to buy either product from Bulk Reef Supply, so I'd hope/expect that their stock would include only the most up to date/repaired models.
I should mention that I'd like to keep a mixed reef of decent variety, although I haven't planned out any particulars yet. Obviously I understand that SPS might only thrive well in a small location closer to the surface where light penetration is the best, especially if I intend to distribute via wide angle lens.
Sooo if you've read this far and have some experience on the topic, I'd love to hear your opinion.
