Hey Y'all!
So I was able to build the stand to raise my tank up another 14 inches. Height is perfect for me, and it makes the tank look so much better!
Secondary purpose of this was to house a sump. I plan on getting a HOB overflow, and running the sump soon. However, the problem that I have is this. I made the stand about 5 times as strong as it needed to be, so the room left for a sump tank is about 8" wide x 20" long x 11" tall. No bigger, this is even a stretch, at least for the length. Finding a tank like this will be pretty hard, if not impossible. Could I not find a clear plastic bin that fits my dimensions? My local Walmart and or Lowe's has some pretty ridged bins that I would feel comfortable using; definitely don't want something flimsy. Does anyone see a problem with this? Has anyone done it, or know why not to do it?
