We recently invested in a Giesemann Vervve lighting system and are wondering if anyone has insight or opinions on their factory preset program- which is 98% full spectrum power for 9 hours - deep blue, lagoon blue, royal blue, cool white, UV and deep red. This is a much more light than we had been giving our corals, but we also recently had a tank crash, after 3 year of happy, thriving like crazy SPS and LPS. We don't think this was due to lighting- several fish died too- but the root cause is still unknown, so...We are down to our mushrooms and some unhappy LPS. It just seems like a TON of light.
If anyone has any opinions, we'd be very happy to hear- the guidance in the Vervve manual is disappointing. If you agree with that amount of light, would you recommend an acclimation time, or is going from, for example, Deep Red light at a max of 30% for only 2 hours, to 98% for 9 hours ok for the corals?:read::arg:
