Hi All!
i am new to owning a saltwater tank and to using public forums to get help!
my school was recently gifted a 150 gallon tank with fish and coral included! YAY!! we started with 2 clown fish, 2 chromis, 1 yellow tang, 1 fox face, 1 sailfin, 1 blood shrimp, and 2 peppermint shrimp. the set-up was about 3 weeks ago. unfortunately, whether it was due to the stress of the move or the tank not being properly cleaned before it was reset-up, most of my fish have died. we now have only 2 clown fish, 2 chromis, 2 peppermint shrimp, and an awesome clam left.
during the last week we have noticed little worm-like animals all over the coral...like a lot, i counted 15 on one piece of coral.
after doing some research, my sister said they are bristle-worms and that is one of the things that may have added to the fish dying. we are looking at getting an Arrow crab to help clear up the worms.
I am wondering what is more dangerous to my remaining fish?
also, what kind of fish should i look at getting to replace what i lost? are there some fish that are heartier than others? is there a more preferable way to acclimate fish to the tank?
all help is greatly appreciated!!
