Hi everyone, I was hoping someone may be able to help me. I am trying to understand what this type of algae is in my tank (please see photos). My tank is around 3 year old now but I have always tended to have difficulties with algae problems, in particular green hair algae. However, having upped my phosphate remover I can see a bit of a die of of the GHA, but I now have this red stuff in the substrate. Any ideas? Its not dino's which I had before.
Other than that the tank is good, although my phosphate is always higher than I would like. Ammonia, Nitrite always 0. Nitrate rangers between 0.5 and 1.0 before I change. Alkalinity around 125, Salinity 1.025, Calcium 430, DO 8, Temp 25 degrees, PH 8.2.
Not feeding my tank as regularly is not an option because I have a pair of scooter dragons; 1 of which will only eat frozen, and one of which will only eat copepods!!! :arg:
I also have corals so I don't want to limit lighting more than I have too. If anyone can recognise what it is, what is the best way of getting rid? I am doing 1 wc per week at the moment and don't really want to increase because I've heard that can be counter productive.
Thanks in advance
