I was wondering if someone could maybe help ID what is growing on my rockwork. It makes the rock very slippery. I have scrubbed it with a tooth brush to remove it and it just comes back. You have to really work at it to get it off the rock as well. It's growing on my hang on back skimmer inlet pipe and my wave maker also. Seems not to grow where light is not direct. I have a few spots where rocks hang over some parts of my other rocks and it isn't growing there.
I have to test when I get off work but this has been going on now for a few months and my numbers have consistently been ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate have read 0. PH is reading 8 salinity is at 1.031. Temp is at 77 degrees. These are from my API liquid test kit.
My tank is 13 months old now. My corals are all growing and are happy. It doesn't seem to be affecting anything other then it's just an eye sore to me. If anyone could give me some insight on what it might be and how to get rid of it. I would greatly appreciate it.
