yesterday i took the plunge and set up my 4ft tank. The tank is 4 ft by 1.5ft and has a total volume of 300 liters. I went to lfs and bought 80 pounds of sand. When pouring sand in the bottom i actually only used 60 pound. I then added 32 kg of live rock. after adding the rock i added 300 liters of reef water at salinity of 1.025. iv added heater. powerheads and so on.
Today the tank is clear. Iv done a water test and it shows no nitrate. No nitrite. Ph is good. Ammonia is showing at about 0.25ppm.
my plan is to put a puffer fish in the tank with a couple of other fish like angels etc. But will start twith puffer. I have ordered atm colony which i plan to add tomorrow. Can some please help in telling me what steps i need to take. What skimmer i need to add and so on.
