I set up a 20g tank using tap water and instant ocean, added 2 clowns, a green chromis, 4 hermits, and a brittle star about a month ago, there is no live rock just fake grass and rocks, just added an anemone 2 weeks ago. Then I learned about the need to cycle the tank and im just worried I am harming the live stock. Everything seems to be fine though, I don't have test kits except for ph and ph is.normal. I am starting to get Brown algae growing on the glass and substrate. I'd really just like to know what I need to do to reverse my mistake if possible and get rid of the algae. I have a filter of course, heater and power head.
