Started a 20 gallon tank a week and a half ago with just live sand a piece of deli shrimp and a HOB filter pouring water in slowly I added another filter that blows water in the bottom and a protein skimmer. My ammonia levels are at 8.0 ppm max on my tests my nitrites are 20 ppm nitrates 1 ppm my saltwater I just noticed is pretty high and ph is too high. I've been reading all these posts saying everyone cycles with live rock in their tank and I was told To wait until after cycle! Should I add some with my ammonia this High should I wait until the end of the cycle to add it? Should I wait until I get my salt under control and my ammonia and nitrites go down?
