Something Attached to GSP

I attached two pictures below. One with lights on, one with lights off. Both are of my GSP. When it recedes at night, something sticks out. Could this be a "juvenile" aptasia? Or something else? I have Aptasia-X in case of emergency. Can I hit it and not harm the GSP? If so, do I take it up out of the water to do it or reach down into the water?

Another forum moderator suggested maybe colonial hydroids. I am uncertain. Does anyone have any opinions?

If it needs to be removed, I can very easily get rid of the whole GSP frag because it is on a loose LR branch.
