Should I upgrade my Return Pump?

So, when I purchased my aquarium it came with a mag5 pump for the return. I've noticed that the diatoms seem to be building up at the surface of the water and I think this is caused by there not being enough turnover inside the tank. I pulled this chart online that shows the flow rate at various head heights. From my mag5 to the top of the return is 50" which is approximately 4.16' of head height.

From the chart, I calculated the equation of the line generated by the data and came up with F=(0.8304*Y^4)- (12.765*Y^3)+(61.098*Y^2) - (139.16*Y) + 570 Where Y is is head height and F is the Flow Rate. Using this equation, the flow rate at 4.1666 feet is 377.7947 GPH. Since the pump is by no means new and I don't know when it was last serviced, I'm going to assume it's working at 85% efficiency, which places my flow rate in my tank around 321.1255 GPH. This is almost 1/2 what is suggested for my tank size.

So my question is, if I go with a mag 9 pump, I used the same method to come up with this number only operating at 100% efficiency, is 718.8256 GPH too much for my tank?
