Help on LED lighting

Ok, so I started my first saltwater tank a little over a year ago. I decided to go with the Fluval Marine and Reef LED Full Spectrum light. At the time I was not very educated on the lighting and the other types of LED fixtures that were offered. The light has been ok but never seems to grow my Brain Coral very good. It isn't dead and grow barely. It might be only like a inch bigger since I originally got my tank. The coral was on the live rock. So I was considering upgrading to a different type of LED lighting. I liked the Fluval also because it could rest of the tank itself and not have a hanging fixture. After doing a little more research I am considering a Reef Breeder light. I have a 40 gallon breeder tank and was just curious as to what size I should get and are these lights pretty good? What type of light would I get? The photon series or another one? Im still not very educated on the LED area however I hope to get a reef breeder sometime in the near future.
