Do i need a protein skimmer

Going to get a 70 gallon tank custom built, but i will not have room for a sump but i will be adding a filter chamber at the back. Is it necessary to have a skimmer if ill be doing weekly water changes?

But just incase i change my mind are there any in tank skimmers i could install for the tank? I prefer not having HoB skimmers because i have read there is a chance of leakage.


P.S will plan of keeping corals and few fish
