how to turn my wet dry into a sump

hello I've recently bought a tank and it came with a wet dry with bio balls which I don't want to use on my smaller I was using a traditional sump but wont be enough for this tank. is there anyway to turn this into more a sump any suggestions how to do it I've looked online and on YouTube can't really seem to find anything on how to do it . thanks everyone
