Does feeding with raw shrimp add iodine to water colum?

Does feeding my fish pieces of raw shrimp add iodine to water? I always heard that shrimp contained iodine and I was thinking if my cleaner shrimp and Xenia need it would feeding more raw shrimp help? Just a curious question. I read a little about dosing iodine and thought there had to be another way as well.
