Just a warning to all, I needed a pump to run my small reactor after I had an older pump go out. I found one for 17 dollars at Petsmart and thought it would work just fine.
Fast forward about a week I notice something weird with the tank. Just didn't feel right. Little sores on my hand would burn when I put it in the water and my arm would burn if I bumped the LED light. I didn't think nothing of it just thought the lights were hot.
Last night it was just brothering me too much and found that the tank had 28 volts in my tank water. After about 45 mins of looking around, it was the cheap pump that was putting this voltage into the system. Everything seems fine but still very scary!
Anybody know if there will be any long term effects?
Not going to say who made the pump because some cheap pumps can work a long time, other have problems like this.
