My poor mandarin :(

Before starting i would like to say that what happened is pretty tragic but in some odd way its kind of funny.

My 90L/20g tank is coming up for 10 months old but the last couple of weeks it has had a very serious hair algae breakout and am currently going through a cleaning regime so please keep any "your tank is filthy you dont deserve a tank" comments to pm's please.

So currently im scrubbing the rocks and sides of the tank to get rid of hair algae (which seems to attract detritus!!!) im doing a small clean every few days so as not to upset things too much the in tanks filter does wonders at catching everything after a clean.

Exhibit A: Fish tank
Exhibit B: bowl of baked beans in a tomato sauce (cold)

Whilst I'm cleaning the tank I feel something brush past my arm but assumed it was me knocking the power head and thought nothing of it)

Anyway after finishing cleaning one of the rocks I noticed that in the bowl of beans was our beloved green spotted mandarin!!!!! I try to gently scoop her up. As I lift her up she flounders out of my hand back into the beans.

In desperation and whilst fearing for the poor thing I literally go hands deep in baked beans grab her and a fistfull of sauce and beans and throw it all into the tank.

Unfortunately I didn't have my phone on me at the time so couldn't get a picture of the fish in a bowl of beans but as it stands at the moment she seems fairly content and unscathed by the expedition.

Anyway, whilst im doing this, unknown to me is my 2 year old daughter running riot upstairs and discovered the brand new pot of sudocream (a white pasty antiseptic cream) and has proceeded to paint pretty much everything in her bedroom and upstairs with it!

It has been quite the afternoon.
