Can a rock flower nem live without feeding

I had (have) a beautiful bright red rock flower nem. I say had, because it "ran away" and is probably living happily (for now) behind the rockwork. Not knowing where it is I cant feed it. Will it live on light alone like most nems, or is it doomed to starve to death?
