So I have a hang on box with a little pump that runs water though it slowly from thr tank. I run Seachem Matrix in it but also usually run Phosban and Carbon.
I am thinking of maybe putting the pump on a timer to only run a couple of hours in the middle of the night. My question is will the bacteria survive that is in the Matrix just being submerged in the water all day or does it need a constant flow of oxygenated water. Will pumping newnew water through it a couple hours a night be enough?
