Kelvin and LED

So I was looking on the web (lol) to see what kelvin rating does SPS do well in. From some other forums they gave me an example that LPS do well in 14k so I was looking for something similar for SPS. I found this article/blog and wanted to see what your guys opinion. From my understanding LEDs do not have to go by kelvin rating in terms of coral growth, so that correct or am I reading it wrong?
