Hello Everyone-
I am new to TRT. I have picked up the saltwater reef hobby a few months ago, I have done a tremendous amount of research before purchasing my 55 gallon tank. I have 108 watt t5 HO's, protein skimmer, roughly 65 pounds of live rock, Fluval 405 canister filter, (2) 850gph power heads in each corner. Ammonia, Nitrites are all 0, Nitrates are floating around the 10ppm for the past month as I do regular water changes when needed as well as clean out my canister filter monthly. Ph is around 8.1, Calcium is at 450ppm, Dkh is roughly 9.8 along with 1500 for magnesium. I have added a few soft corals recently including some kenya's, xenia, green star polyps, and a elephant ear mushroom. The elephant ear mushroom I purchased a couple weeks back now and I have not been able to get it to attach to anything. Forget the glue trick because of the slime. The LFS said glue but I havent tried because its not going to work. Can anyone offer any ideas with this?? I have heard of rubberbands. I am also trying to get my large kenya tree I purchased to attached and my reef glue is not working with that coral. I have even turned my powerheads off for right now. Currently the Elephant ear is sitting on some rubble rock on my substrate and I am hoping for it to attach. Suggestions/Ideas Please!
Thanks
CJ
