Test kit

Just started a new tank and from what I am reading I need to test the water everyday while it is cycling? Is this accurate?



If so I need to go to the store today to purchase a kit as it has been cycling for two days now. Can I buy a reputable test kit at PETCO? if so which ones do y'all recommend?
