Hey everyone, so I've set up my BioCube 29. I've got roughly 23 pounds of live rock and about 27 or so pounds of live sand. One piece of the live rock I bought for the tank has a pretty good patch of green hair algea, about 1" x 2", and a couple small spots of it here and there. I really wanted the piece because it works as a great base for stacking.
Anyway what I was looking for help with was, I've read how some people have added crabs and snails while the tank is initially cycling, and was wondering what others' experience with this was.
Also, might the hair algea not get worse as it was (presumably) the result of the tank the LFS had the rock in?
If possible I'd like to get at least a few (4-6) hermits and maybe an emerald(?). I'm just looking to nip this algea spot in the bud.
Thanks everyone
