Gap between Tank and Stand (brand new 220g)

Hey everyone...

We finally got the 220g up on the fresh build and level stand...... we noticed, that all four corners of the tank are resting perfectly on the 3/4inch plywood top... but it seems that the front and back of the tank has about a credit card width gap between tank and stand.. spanning about 4 feet... I am worried about this... so I researched and found all sorts opinions... mostly any sort of mat that will absorb imperfections...

I just called MARINELAND (brand of tank)... and they told me this exactly.

"We never put any sort of mat or foam inserts under rimmed tanks... all four corners must be sitting flush on the stand top with no gap. Gaps in middle of tank are tolerated to 1/8 inch... any more of a gap is not tolerable and stand must be fixed."

I am becoming more uneasy by the second...

Anyone have any opinions or first hand experience with gaps? Please help...

To clarify, all four corners of my tanks are sitting flush.. the only gaps i have are from middle of the tanks front and back glass... spanning 4 ft.. then the gap closed about a foot from the corners.... both sides sit flush in all.
